I am an adult recording artist and performer, and have been working with Billy and the crew now for two years. I say without hesitation that Billy is the best vocal instructor I have ever had and by far the best in the state of Connecticut. He's transformed my vocal performance, helped me reach new heights in my tone and vocal control, and he's an amazing coach as well for those who are putting together a career in music. He's incredibly experienced, considerate, and at this point has become a good friend. Thanks to Billy and the NHAOPA crew for making such a difference. ​

Mr. Neil Fuentes not only taught me how to act, but how to perform from a professional perspective. I love NHAOPA because not only do they have an amazing theatre program and lovely teachers, but everyone cares for each other and hopes each  child succeeds in their acting careers. The New Haven Academy of Performing Arts is one of my favorite  places in the entire world. It is like a second home to me. At the academy I have made some of the greatest friends in the world, while also being apart  of the amazing shows put on at the academy. At NHAOPA I have learned how to further develop my talents as a performer. NHAOPA is the only school of it's kind where you can learn how to sing, dance, and act in a way that prepares you for the real work of performing. NHAOPA is a safe place where everyone is treated as equals and are joined together by their love of performing

We love NHAOPA! The staff is genuine and takes such pride in all of the students. It is a family environment. Everyone looks out for one another and are supportive. It amazes me how they prepare these students for every performance. I don't know how they do it but each show is better than the last. They always leave you wanting more. E (2017) and A (2018) have grown so much in this program. They are now singing, acting, playing the piano, and dancing. Their movements are elegant. Their confidence in all activities has increased in ways I could never imagine. I love to see the excitement in their faces when it is time to go to class. The teachers hold them accountable for the skillsets they are learning as well as how they are doing in school academically. They enjoy their life long friends as well. What a wonderful place for my children to grow, learn, and become role models and leaders. I appreciate the safety precautions that are in place to keep this small business open during Covid. My children needed this home away from home and we are thankful. ❤️❤️❤️

All the summer shows were fabulous. New Haven Academy of Performing Arts (NHAOPA) is a home away from home. My daughter truly love all aspects of the program. I am amazed at how my children have grown and how the confidence has grown in every student. The teachers and students are so supportive of each other. NHAOPA is truly a part of our family!!

When I’m asked about Billy I always pause and so many awesome memories come into my mind.  I didn’t think my son, Tyler, who hated all sports, would ever find his passion.  The minute he met Billy and felt Billy’s compassion and enthusiasm he was hooked.  He looks forward to each and every lesson.  
Billy isn’t a push over, he recognizes the seriousness of his work and pushes Tyler to the best he possibly can be.  His professionalism and work ethic are only outdone by his never ending energy.  He has a way of making Tyler want to do better.  I know Billy truly cares about Tyler and since working with Ty for the last 6 years he is like family to us now.”

My daughter has been taking voice lessons from Billy for over a year. I can not believe the difference in her voice! Truly amazing!! She also did the "Touch of Broadway" Musical Theater Program this summer. She told me it was the best 3 weeks of her life! My daughter Camryn is approaching her one year anniversary with New Haven Academy of Performing Arts. NHAOPA has been a dream come true. The staff are exceptional, it feels like home as soon as you walk in, the students are being stretched far more than I could ever imagine to show all the gifts and talents they possess. My granddaughter came from Maine to attend the recent 3-week Summer Theatre Program. The production they accomplished in that time was nothing short of spectacular. I'd recommend this school for any budding performer. My granddaughter will take continue her education there with FaceTime voice lessons - this little school beats the NYC schools I researched hands down. Love the staff and the expertise they share freely with each child. Can't say enough good about them.

"I had my first lesson about a week after I first found Thumbtack. Both the setting up of the time of meeting and the lesson itself was a very pleasant experience, and I will now be starting regular weekly lessons with Billy.
