Chavon Hampton is an internationally renowned professional artist. A graduate of AMDA The American Musical & Dramatic Academy in NYC & L.A and is an alumni of New Haven ECA. She has successfully tackled Broadway, & touring productions of Broadway shows. Some of her favorite roles include: Violet U/S (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Little Inez (Hairspray), Young Nala (Lion King), Lisa (Mamma mia!). Chavon has also been very successful in TV/Film and commercial work. She was featured on The Amber Ruffin Show, Nickelodeon Halo Awards, Depends & many more!
Chavon has starred in 4 short films this past year, one of which she produced and directed. Chavon has recently found a passion in being a Teaching Artist. She has worked at and facilitated arts education non-profits based out of New York, as well as an arts education non-profit based right here in New Haven CT. She teaches dance, music theory, acting & and musical theater. She has traveled internationally doing this work to share her craft and expertise with children from all over.
She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experiences with the children here at NHAOPA, to help nourish their passion for the arts. Chavon will be teaching our Musical Theatre & On-Camera Acting classes as well as assisting the administrative staff. We are elated to have her on board, and we know that you’ll love her energetic, loving and welcoming spirit just as much as we do. .
